About Dan Barney, Principal and Founder
Dan Barney is Principal of Barney & Associates Consulting Services. Founded in 2002, BACS is a consulting firm focusing on data surrounding philanthropic support of an organization’s operations, capital campaigns and endowment initiatives. BACS strives to empower nonprofit organizations to succeed by efficiently engaging their data so they can spend more time pursuing their missions.
As a recovering fundraiser previously responsible for raising $10 million each year, Dan understands the need to bridge the gap between information administration, fundraising operations and financial management. His approach is donor-centric and organizationally sensitive. BACS services include selecting the right-sized solution, converting to a new database, implementing the product post-conversion, recovering lost data, integrating multiple solutions, auditing existing installations to diagnose areas of concern and opportunities for improvement, stabilizing disjointed information to make it useful and valuable, training staff and enhancing operations.
Dan holds a B.S. from Indiana University's Kelley School of Business and an M.B.A. from John Carroll University's Boler School of Business. He lives in Avon, Ohio with his wife and son – Tricia and Peyton – and puppy, Apollo.
